Today, MonaLisa Touch® offers a new method, with a unique concept, to restore the trophic conditions of the vulvo vaginal region.

Genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM), also known as vulvovaginal atrophy (VVA), is a very common condition, especially among women going through menopause.

The vulvo vaginal tract is very sensitive to the decline in oestrogen, with a number of consequences that have a direct impact on the quality of life and sexual function in as many as 50% of postmenopausal women:

  • weakness and laxity of the vaginal mucosa,
  • dryness,
  • itching and burning,
  • pain during sexual intercourse.
These issues are often ignored by the patients or considered to be an inevitable effect of the natural ageing process. Moreover, many feel doubtful and uncertain with regards to traditional treatment (surgical or pharmacological), which is considered to be very invasive or posing high risks of significant side effects.

In this context, DEKA has introduced the first laser-assisted treatment to fight vaginal atrophy safely and effectively: MonaLisa Touch®. Thanks to the gentle action of an innovative fractional CO2 laser, the vaginal tissue can be rejuvenated naturally and effectively by means of therapeutic and not purely aesthetic treatment. When the pre-menopausal structure is restored, the vaginal mucosa benefits from the functionality it had lost due to age, thereby recovering:
  • hydration,
  • trophism,
  • tone,
  • sensitivity.
This new method uses the innovative SmartXide2 or SmartXide Touch systems, with the HiScan V2LRscanning system that guarantees optimal reliability and performance thanks to an exclusive CO2 source laser with PSD® technology (Pulse Shape Design), that allows a special pulse to be used, specifically designed for this treatment.
